I Need Your Help!

I have a big favor to ask.

As many of you who will read this are aware, I have been working on a memoir about my journey with macular degeneration and how that has changed the way I see the world, both figuratively and literally. The process of writing the memoir has been one of the most transformative things I have ever undertaken. Glennon Doyle, in her book Love Warrior, shares that the first time she felt that she really saw herself was when she started writing - “Yes!. There I am,” she says. Our stories may be different, but when I read those words I realize that our experience with our journeys is far more alike than they are different.

I am excited, and more than a little frightened, to say that I will soon be publishing my memoir. I cannot believe that, after spending years trying to hide from some of the stories of my past, I am about to share them freely with anyone who has an interest or willingness to read them. I feel like for the first time in my life I have a better sense of who I am, and if my journey resonates with even one person then it is worth sharing.

As I have decided to self-publish my memoir, I have both the freedom and the burden of choosing my book cover. I have looked at dozens of designs and have narrowed them down to a couple of options. I would love any thoughts, comments, or suggestions about these. Thank you for sharing your thoughts!

If all goes according to my plan, I would expect to have my memoir available on Amazon by mid-April.
